Terms and conditions
The conditions for orders placed through the website of Mineralienzentrum GmbH: conclusion of contract, prices, payment, delivery and returns.
Last updated: 1 November 2026
1. Scope
These terms and conditions apply to orders you place through this website with Mineralienzentrum GmbH, Bahnhofstrasse 62, 9424 Rheineck, Switzerland (UID CHE-407.633.645). The version you accepted when ordering is the one that applies.
2. Ordering and conclusion of contract
The presentation of pieces on the website is not yet a binding offer. An order comes about as follows:
- You add pieces to the cart or choose to buy directly.
- At checkout you give your contact details, address and delivery method. You can sign in or order as a guest.
- You see the pieces, prices, shipping costs and total, and can correct your details before submitting.
- By accepting these terms and submitting, you create your order and are taken to Stripe to pay.
- Once payment is confirmed, we send you an order confirmation by email.
The contract is concluded once payment is confirmed and we have confirmed the order to you by email. The contract language is German or English, depending on the language you chose. You can then find your order in your account, or through the private link in our emails.
A message through the enquiry form, including one about a reservation, is not an order and does not create a contract of sale.
3. Prices
All prices are in Swiss francs (CHF). For delivery to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, and for collection, they include VAT at 8.1%. For delivery to other countries the price stays the same and no Swiss VAT is shown.
Shipping costs are added unless free shipping applies; they are set out in the shipping information and at checkout. Customs duties, import taxes and local charges in the destination country are not included.
If you choose to see prices in another currency, that is a non-binding guide. The amount charged is always the one in Swiss francs. If a price changes during checkout, we show you before you order.
4. Payment and reservation
You pay on Stripe’s secure payment page, using the payment methods offered there. We do not receive your card details.
We reserve ordered pieces for about 30 minutes. If payment does not arrive within that time, the order lapses and the pieces are released.
5. Delivery
We deliver to the countries that can be selected at checkout. You can also collect an order free of charge from our gallery in Rheineck. Shipping costs and usual delivery times are set out in the shipping information; delivery times are guides.
Benefit and risk pass to you as soon as you or a person you name receive the goods, so for a collection on handover in the gallery. Until then we bear the transport risk.
6. Cancellation, returns and exchanges
You can cancel an unpaid order yourself on your order page. As long as a paid order has not been shipped, you can request its cancellation and refund there.
Returns and exchanges are subject to the conditions on the returns and exchanges page. You can register a return by email or on your order page. Refunds are made through Stripe.
If you return a piece because you changed your mind, you bear the cost of return shipping. If it is defective, doesn’t match its description or was damaged in transport, we bear it. If you return the whole order, we also refund the original cost of standard shipping; for a defective or damaged piece we refund it in any case.
Right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU. If you live in the EU and aren’t buying for business purposes, you can withdraw from your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. For several pieces in separate shipments, the last one counts. It is enough to send your withdrawal in time, to info@mineralienzentrum.ch or by post to our address.
After a withdrawal we refund all payments, including the cost of standard shipping, within 14 days of receiving it, by the original payment method. We may hold the refund until we have the goods or proof of shipment. Send the goods back within 14 days of withdrawing; you bear the cost of return shipping. You are liable for a loss in value only if it results from handling the goods beyond what was needed to examine them. There is no right of withdrawal for custom-made pieces.
Still openThe withdrawal function required for online sales to the EU since 19 June 2026 is not yet set up on the website.
7. Warranty and authenticity
The statutory provisions apply to defects. What to do about transport damage is set out on the returns and exchanges page. Our commitments on authenticity are set out in the authenticity guarantee.
The warranty period is 2 years from delivery. Your rights are those the law provides.
8. Customer account
A customer account is optional. Please give accurate details and protect your password. We may deactivate an account in the event of misuse.
9. Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body and health, and as far as mandatory law requires. Otherwise our liability is excluded as far as the law allows. Your statutory rights in respect of defects are unaffected.
10. Data protection
How we process your personal data is set out in the privacy policy.
11. Changes
We may change these terms. An order already placed stays under the version you accepted. We ask signed-in customers to accept the new version at their next order.
12. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The place of jurisdiction is Rheineck. For consumers, the mandatory protections and courts of their country of residence also apply.
